Cubs at 24th Chelmsford

Thinking about joining?

Who are we?

Cubs are young people aged 8 to 10 1/2 who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, on their own doorstops and beyond

Every week, they gather in a group called a Cub Pack to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

We meet every Thursday from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Badges at Cubs

The Cubs can earn dozens of activity badges, including Photography, Entertainers and Disability Awareness along with a wide range of challenge awards, partnership awards and the staged badges which can be earned in any section. With such a range of badges available, there’s no way that we could include all of them in our weekly meetings! Some require specialist knowledge that Cubs might get from lessons and clubs outside of Scouting and so it’s a great idea to learn what the requirements are for each badge and where abouts on the uniform they belong!

Cubs work towards their Chief Scout Silver – the highest award a Cub can achieve. By attending each session and doing their best, they’ll achieve this by the time they move on to Scouts.

Moving on

There’ll come a time when all to do in Cubs is done, and your young person is ready to move on to Scouts, where they’ll have the opportunity to try bigger challenges and continue their Scouting adventure.

We offer Scouts at 24th Chelmsford, where your young person can try more adventurous activities, make even more friends, and grow as people as their scouting journey moves through life with them!
